The need for a social movie hub
Film enthusiasts love sharing their passion for cinema, but existing platforms like Letterboxd and IMDb primarily offer an individual experience with limited options to build a genuine community. Within the CMD community (Communication & Multimedia Design), students expressed a need for a space where they could not only rate and track films but also effortlessly organize movie nights and events. The challenge was to design a platform serving both social and functional purposes, where users would feel welcomed and could easily connect with like-minded people.

The app needed to make organizing movie nights as effortless as adding films to a watchlist. Additionally, the platform had to be inviting enough to attract both movie lovers and casual viewers. By emphasizing usability and community-building, the app aimed to become a space where users could not only share their passion for films but actively experience cinema together.
